GROUP CLASSES

Our group classes have a low student-teacher ratio that allows for close, personalized attention.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You may cancel or reschedule up to 1 week before class. If you cancel within a week of class, it is nearly impossible for us to fill your spot, and you will forfeit your tuition.

BEGINNER CLASSES

Introduction to Semi-Auto Handguns — 4 hrs: This is the place for individuals with little or no handgun experience to start; it’s also a great class for those who have learned informally from a friend or family. We equip everyone with a Smith & Wesson .380 EZ semi-auto pistol and provide the ammo, rental electronic earmuffs and eye protection. Even if you already have a gun and have done a little shooting, our common training platform including easy-to-operate firearm will ensure that you are focused on learning safety and shooting fundamentals rather than wrestling with your gun during the class. You’ll spend about 2 hours in the classroom learning the fundamentals; the rest of the time is spent on the range: practicing safe methods for loading and unloading, and live-fire exercises on the shooting fundamentals. Our class is only 10 students to ensure a low student-teacher ratio and close, personal attention. Register today to ensure your seat!

Class price includes:

• S&W M&P .380 EZ firearm rental (if you would like to learn to shoot a revolver, please call us about scheduling a private lesson)

• Up to 100 rounds of .380 range ammo

• Rental electronic hearing protection and shooting glasses

Targets

• Range and classroom time

• NRA-certified Instructor and 2 NRA-certified Range Safety Officers

If you would like to learn to shoot a revolver, please call us about scheduling a private lesson.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Defensive Skills series — 2 hrs: Defensive Skills is for shooters who have learned the basics of handgun operation, are competent with their firearm, and are looking toward the next step of more defensive-focused skills. These classes (1 hour in class and 1 hour of live-fire drills) cover a different topic each month, rotating through the skills you need to reliably use your firearm. The topics are:

• Situational Awareness/Threat Assessment: Learn to practice the appropriate levels of alertness as you move through your daily lives, preemptively identify threatening/criminal behavior, assess the level of danger posed by individuals, and engage threats at defensive distances.

• Sighting Methods: Instinctive, front sight/flash sight, and fully aimed shots are all necessary skills for defensive shooting. Learn how to perform each style of aiming AND learn how to identify which method is appropriate for a variety of scenarios.

• Multiple Shots on Target: Defensive shooting often requires that we achieve multiple high quality hits on target. This class focuses on learning the how and why of using our firearm to achieve “defensive groups” as opposed to single bullseye shots.

• Scanning and Assessing: The ability to keep ourselves from developing tunnel vision is essential for the defensive-minded shooter. You will learn to quickly and effectively react AFTER a defensive shooting to ensure that you don’t forfeit your fight, and life, at the end.

PREREQUISITES: Students must possess intermediate shooting skills, i.e. PROFICIENCY (able to place 5 shots in a row in a 5” target at 5 yards); PRACTICED within the last month; and SAFE (know and follow all indoor range firearm safety rules). If you are unsure about your readiness, ask the range officer to evaluate you during your next practice.

Arizona CCW — 8 hrs: Arizona allows its citizens to carry a concealed weapon without training. However, you will want to know the current laws and requirements regarding concealed carry and self-defense and ALSO learn the skills needed to draw a firearm from concealment, assess the situation, and, if necessary, shoot with accuracy. You get 5 hours classroom time, 3 hours of live-fire drills, 1 hour lunch break, plus an application packet including fingerprint cards to simply drop in the mail.

ADVANCED CLASSES

SkillBuilder series — 2 hrs: Focusing on techniques and drills one can practice on their own, SkillBuilder topics are intended to provide shooters with more advanced skills to protect themselves and loved ones in defensive shooting encounters. Our rotating classes spend about an hour in classroom instruction, then about an hour on range running various drills on the topic. Most SkillBuilders are linked to a Drill Nite class later in the month where shooters participate in more advanced drills focused on the same topic. The series culminates every 6 months in a shoot house scenario that embodies the last 5 skills learned and practiced.

PREREQUISITE: You must have had formal holster draw training AND be vetted by our staff; ask our range officer to evaluate you at no additional charge during a range practice. Once vetted, have the certification noted on your customer account; now you can sign up for any SkillBuilder and Drill Nite classes!

Tactical Drill Nite series — 1 hr: Looking to improve your shooting and improve the quality of your range time? Then check out PSR’s Drill Night, a fast-paced 1-hour training session that builds on the skills you already possess. This is not an instructional course; it is a series of advanced courses designed to enhance your accuracy and speed in defensive shooting situations through a series of advanced practical drills usually based upon the SkillBuilder class earlier in the month. The series culminates every 6 months in a shoot house scenario that embodies the last 5 skills learned and practiced.

TESTIMONIALS

This place is awesome, the staff is friendly and professional. The range is nice. I took their concealed carry course and it was very informative. I highly recommend this place. In fact…I’ll be back there again today!
Friendly, professional and with a good sense of humor. The awesome range officer helped my sister and brother-in-law to try their first time shooting a hand gun and a carbine. Excellent attitude and very helpful! You cant go wrong with these guys!
Nothing but good things to say about this these guys. A modern range with very friendly and helpful staff in every regard. I never got the feeling like I was an outsider in a special club, or talked down to like at other ranges I have been to over the years. If you go here more than twice a month, get the membership it is well worth it with free range time and a 5% discount on certain products.
